WARNING: GENERAL LIMITATIONS OF
SEISMIC VALVES: To avoid unnecessarily shutting
off your gas, seismic valves are designed not
to trip until the seismic forces exceed the levels
set forth in the Specifications. If your gas
lines, connections, and appliances are not properly
installed and maintained, they may rupture at
seismic levels lower than the level at which
the seismic valve is designed to trip, leading
to gas leakage and possible fire and explosion.
SUITABLE FOR USE ONLY WITH NATURAL GAS OR GAS
NOT LlKELY TO FORM GUMMY DEPOSITS. If the gas
seismic valve is not properly installed the seismic
forces may not reach the gas seismic valve and
it will not work. It is essential that you ensure
that your gas lines, connections and appliances
are properly installed and maintained, and that
you inspect them periodically for leaks and corrosion.
Gas containing higher than normal levels of sulfur
may corrode the inside of the gas seismic valve.
Be sure to have your seismic valve checked by
a qualified professional if you receive any information
that your gas company has supplied gas containing
sulfur concentrations higher than normal.
